  • As a toner
  • For a soothing hot bath
  • Mixed with cosmetic clay to produce a clay facial mask
  • Alternate additive for lotions or cosmetic recipes

Hydrosol Usage Warning

It is important to note that hydrosols do not contain preservatives and should be treated as perishable products. To lengthen its shelf life, it is recommended to keep them refrigerated. They should also be stored away from direct sunlight and ideally in a dark location preferably in amber or dark bottles.

Hydrosol bottles should also be always full, because oxygen inside the bottle will react with the hydrosol and will begin to oxidize. Oxidation can harm the fragile aromatic constituents of the hydrosol. Prolong shelf life by minimising headspace, which is the empty space inside a bottle, by transferring to smaller bottles as the water is being used. Bottle caps should also always be kept tight.

Also, avoid direct contact with fingers, cotton balls or any items when using to maintain the integrity of the hydrosols.
