Work with me
I believe we are all born with an innate need for connection, love, acceptance, security and belonging.
When these basic needs are not met we can develop coping skills and patterns of responding to protect ourselves. These behaviours remain fixed in our nervous system and help us avoid feeling rejected. For example our coping skills may include being a people pleaser, perfectionist, overachiever, overfunctioner. We may have difficulty asking for help, trusting others, saying No.
When clients come and see me it's usually because these coping skills have outlived their usefulness and clients are seeking new ways of responding.
The magic of working with kinesiology and psychology together is it allows us to work simultaneously with the mind and the nervous system in a gentle and profound way.
What should I expect during a session?
I will allow plenty of time to listen to you, get to know you and understand what your concerns and goals are. During this time I may help you see your strengths and help you to recognise patterns that are evident in your life. The kinesiology component involves removing your shoes and lying fully clothed on a massage table. There is a small amount of touch involved, primarily your right arm will be used for muscle testing. As well as applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body, essential oils and tuning forks may be used during the balance.
What is kinesiology and how does it work?
Kinesiology essentially means muscle testing. I use muscle testing to connect with things you may be holding in your subconscious that are related and influencing the issues you have identified.
Kinesiology aims to
- improve our communication with ourselves and others
- identify and understand thought and behaviour patterns that influence your life
- shows us how to listen to ourselves
- release stress and therefore improve our quality of life
How many sessions will I need?
A minimum of 3 sessions are recommended. My approach is to encourage you to notice when you need a balance and also to teach you skills to access your own inner wisdom. There will be no pressure for you to attend regular sessions. Clients who notice the most significant life changes are the ones who prioritise their wellbeing and attend regular sessions.
Are the sessions confidential?
Yes! Client confidentiality is extremely important at Nourished For Life. All information provided is treated with the strictest confidence. The guidelines will be discussed with you at your appointment.
Can I see you for Counselling and not Kinesiology?
Yes. Counselling and Kinesiology are most effective when used in combination. However it is always your choice and I do have clients who attend for counselling not kinesiology.
How much does it cost?
Initial Appointment 90 minutes $150
Follow Appointment 60 minutes $100
