About Osteopathy Australia

In 1955, Osteopathy Australia was founded in Victoria as a state-based organisation and became a national body in 1991 after the merger of state-based associations.

Today, Osteopathy Australia is the peak representative of osteopaths,  their interests and the profession in every state and territory across Australia.

The association’s external focus includes promoting osteopathy, lobbying, policy development, and maintaining clinical quality.

Its membership services include information and advice, clinical excellence and guidelines, continuing professional development, and healthcare business and support.

Mission and Vision for Osteopathy

Osteopathy Australia strives to enhance and promote the profession.

Osteopathy Australia strives to serve all Australians by being a leader in neuromusculoskeletal healthcare.

Members of the association are known for their integrity and dedication to their work, as well as their engagement with stakeholders.

This is accomplished by providing access to and advocating for high-quality university-based education, encouraging research for enhancing an evidence-based approach to practice, being the premier provider for professional development, and promoting equity for consumers.
