HcG DIET

What Is The HcG Diet?

HcG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a hormone that becomes naturally elevated in pregnant woman. Its function is to control metabolic function through the hypothalamus throughout the pregnancy process. However, some 40 years ago Dr. Simeons discovered its benefits in weight loss and management.

How Does It Work?

It is broken up over three phases: During phase 2 exercise should be kept to a minimum.

Phase I: This is the loading phase and is comprised of instructions to drink more water every day, getting a little exercise each day, following the recommended Dr Simeon’s HcG diet for these two days that include healthy fats, like Atlantic Salmon, avocado, extra virgin olive oil, nuts, seeds, coconut oil etc that can be added to your normal diet. This helps to establish the HcG bioenergetic drops into your system and to start working.

Phase II: Starts you off on a lower calorie eating program. It consists of specific choices of proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables and fruits. The large difference to most diets is that in this phase there is NO FAT included what so ever. This is because your body needs to burn its own fat extensively during this time. There is a meal plan, comprehensive manual, CD rom, diet overview etc to guide you to your weight loss success with ‘HcG’. This phase can run from 21 to 40 days depending on the amount of weight you want to lose.

Phase III: Is called maintenance and is arguably the most important phase, as this will set the new weight point to help protect against weight rebounding. The maintenance phase is based on no sugar or artificial sweeteners/no starches and should be continued for the same number of days that you worked through phase 2. i.e. 21 days on your bioenergetic HcG drops then 21 days on maintenance etc. Obviously some of the foods which are strictly prohibited in this phase of the diet include fast foods, sodas and trans fats
