The Feldenkrais Method®
Feldenkrais Practitioners complete a minimum of 160 days of training over a 4 year period. The Feldenkrais Method® is a kinaesthetic movement education system which helps increase a person’s awareness of their movement patterns. It then gives their brain other options to facilitate reorganisation of old habits to create a change to a more comfortable and efficient way of operating.
The Feldenkrais Method® was developed by Dr Moshe Feldenkrais as a result of a knee injury. He used his knowledge of engineering and his expertise in the martial art of Judo to teach himself to walk effectively again, and in the process developed his system for using the neuroplasticity of the central nervous system to improve function.
