What is Biomeso Therapy?

Biomesotherapy, also known as Biopuncture, works by stimulating the bodys own capacity for healing. This is done by using homoeopathically potent natural medicines and the stimulation of acupuncture and trigger points. The homoeopathic medicine is given to the client via an inhaler, so that the body is able to absorb it faster. The specific medicine chosen is dependent on the organ or tissue that is to be treated. Once the solution has been given, less than one millilitre of sterile saline is injected underneath the skin into an acupuncture or trigger point. This is designed to stimulate the deeper organ systems and is known as the cutivisceral response. To properly understand how biomesotherapy works, we need to understand acupuncture and the trigger points. Acupuncture points are part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and they help to control the flow of energy through the body.

Twelve main energy channels are used. Trigger point therapy originated in the USA and trigger points are small tender zones found in the muscles. These trigger points can often cause referred pain. By using these acupuncture and trigger points, the bodys ability to heal itself is stimulated, muscles are relaxed and imbalances are corrected. The point of biomesotherapy is not to suppress pain as many conventional forms of medicine do. Rather, it changes the information in the body in order to promote healing. There are a number of conditions that can be treated using biomesotherapy.

These include:

  • tennis elbow
  • chronic back problems and pain
  • fibromyalgia
  • arthritis
  • acute musculoskeletal problems
  • headaches or migraines
  • wound healing
  • cartilage erosion
  • acute or chronic inflammation
  • musculoskeletal injuries
  • skeletal pain
  • muscle, tendon or ligament bruising or tears
  • inflammation of the sinus
  • softening and repairing scar tissue
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • relaxing muscles and improving circulation.

What is Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a holistic and multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing. It is based on the recognition that the underlying cause or source of many musculoskeletal, neurological, neuromuscular and other health or pain problems could be found in the soft tissue or fascia. Fascia is a specific type of connective tissue that forms a three dimensional web surrounding every tissue in the body. Fascia is the body organiser embracing all nerves, bones, arteries, veins and muscles. Therefore fascial dysfunction can affect every structure, muscle, nerve and organ in the body. Fascia has become the subject of increasing research and recent studies have shown it to be the largest sensory organ in the body. It is rich in a range of receptors that powerfully influence the body's neuro-muscular physiology in many and complex ways.

Bowen Therapy, through specific soft tissue or fascial release and integration techniques, stimulate specific receptors that enable the body itself to correct dysfunctions and restore homeostasis (balance) on a holistic level. Through treating the cause rather than the symptoms Bowen Therapy has consistently shown it can facilitate profound and permanent healing and pain relief outcomes.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet, hands and ears. The theory is that these areas correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to these areas affects the organs and benefits the person's health. Reflexologists use foot charts to guide them as they apply pressure to specific areas. Items such as rubber balls, rubber bands and sticks of wood, can be used to assist in the application of the work. Several studies funded by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health indicate that reflexology may reduce pain and psychological symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, and enhance relaxation, sleep and general wellbeing.
