What is it?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all encounter in everyday life. Some examples of this are when we may be watching a movie, reading a book, playing sport, exercising, drawing or writing. You may recognise this as a general feeling of a “zoned out” state which, is a naturally induced state of hypnotic trance. When individuals experience hypnotherapy, they are often taken by surprise at how familiar the feeling is.
Hypnotherapy is similar to guided meditations in some ways, but the primary difference between the two is that hypnotherapy is more focused and more direct on changing those specific thoughts. Guided meditation can be broader and less distinct, but both bring about ideas to develop beliefs and values to achieve peace of mind.
