Glandular fever

Glandular fever is also known as infectious mononucleosis. It is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus and is most common in teenagers and young adults. Symptoms of glandular fever include a sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, extreme fatigue, fever, muscle pains, headaches, a tendency to sweat, stomach pains, and the enlargement of the spleen and liver. Glandular fever usually resolves itself within two to four weeks. However, treatment options may include supportive treatment to ease the symptoms, stress management, relaxation therapies, herbal medicines, homoeopathy, and acupuncture.
