What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture sees the insertion of small fine needles into certain points on the skin – or applying various other methods to the acupuncture points – to effectively bring about balance and to stimulate the body to heal itself. Scientific studies have proven the great healing power of Acupuncture to be effective in treating a wide range of different disorders. Acupuncture had been an integral pillar of Traditional Chinese medicine for many thousands of years.
How does Acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works on the basis of an energy force called Qi. It is this energy, or life force, that flows throughout the body through invisible channels called meridians. If the stream of Qi in the meridians is restricted, disrupted or blocked then disease may result. By inserting the small fine needles into particular Acupuncture points, the disruption is able to be restored and the stream of Qi returned to its optimal level.
