Arwen began her journey in the health sector studying psychology at the University of Tasmania. She completed a Bachelor of Arts with an Honours research project on Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT). As an artist, Arwen has long been interested in using the arts towards healing. She completed four years of training (including a Masters) in Creative Arts Therapy at the Melbourne Institute of Experiential and Creative Arts Therapy (MIECAT). Arwen has a particular interest in using the arts and play therapies with children and adults who have experienced trauma. Her work background as a therapist/counsellor include roles at the Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS), Carers Tasmania, Anglicare, at a Victorian psychiatric rehabilitation service (IEMHSA) as well as in private practice. Arwen is registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and often works with special needs clients, such as young people on the autism spectrum, using play and arts therapy.

In recent years, Arwen’s interest in the impact of emotions and trauma on the body lead her to study CranioSacral Therapy (CST), SomatoEmotional Release (SER) and therapeutic massage. Arwen treats people experiencing a range of conditions and is qualified to treat in her special interest area of children, babies and pregnancy. Her approach is gentle, empathic, individualized and holistic.

When not working therapeutically, Arwen is a landscape photographer. She loves visiting amazing places around about the world and is passionate about using her images for conservation purposes.
