Acupuncture & Sports Injuries

The treatment of sports injuries and other musculoskeletal complaints is one area where I believe acupuncture excels and it is my specialty. Results can be very quick and long lasting and patients usually get relief from the first session.

People often come to me after slow or incomplete recovery using other methods and are very surprised at the instant relief they get from my treatment. The treatment combines acupuncture, massage and structural balancing which I believe assists the body to do what it does best, heal itself. My belief is that the body is designed to win so my treatments are aimed at assisting the body heal and mend and when done properly the results are always dramatic.

I played baseball for Australia in my earlier days and this athletic training has given me a unique insight into the treatment and therapy of injuries. My aim is to get you back to your regular activities as quickly as possible.
Acupuncture can also treat a wide range of disorders with great success, including headaches, neuralgia, cardiovascular disorders, respiratory conditions, skin conditions and digestive system complaints.

As a natural form of healing, acupuncture has the following benefits:

  • Provides drug free pain relief
  • Effectively treats a wide range of acute and chronic ailments
  • Treats the underlying cause of disease and illness as well as the symptoms
  • Provides an holistic approach to the treatment of disease and illness, linking body, mind and emotions
  • Assists in the prevention against disease and illness as well as the maintenance of general wellbeing

What is the Wellness Club?

With all this in mind I offer my clients an ongoing maintenance program that we call the Wellness Club.

Over the last 25 years of clinical practice by far the most common scenario I see is people waiting too long to seek treatment, unaware that tensions and stresses are building in the body that can result in injuries and disease.

It was this that caused me to take action and so a few years ago I shifted a lot of my focus from reactive treatments to proactive treatments. Meaning I spend a lot of time talking to people about what they could do to stay well not just return to health or fix that injury.

What this means is I have a rock solid belief that the body was made by design to win.... to be well, and that only when it gets out of balance do we end up ill or looking for a cure. So my thinking was, why not work on the body while it was well and not wait for disease or pain to manifest. Its just like taking your car for a regular service which is much cheaper that a complete overhaul or replacement. It would only make sense that we do the same ourselves, with our most valuable assetour health.

I have a passion for this, I practice it, my wellness patients love it and I feel its a win, win. I get to work on your health before it gets too far out of balance and move you towards a more sustainable health platform.
To reflect the importance I place on your health I offer some great deals to patients who join the club. When you commit to regular, monthly visits you will receive a free wellness consultation to advise you on the best strategies for healthy ageing. As a wellness club member you also receive other great incentives to maintain your health.

What can I expect from a treatment?

Acupuncture is a painless, non toxic therapy used for redirecting and restoring chi. Most patients feel relaxed during an acupuncture treatment, some even fall asleep but responses are highly individual, relaxing some, energizing others. Depending on your needs, herbs, vitamin supplements, therapeutic exercises and dietary and lifestyle changes may be part of the holistic healing process.
