People often see a psychologist when they feel like they are stuck because the old ways of living and problem solving are no longer working for them. I provide short and long term counselling.
Short Term Counselling
Concentrates on the immediate issues and life choices:
A counsellor is able to offer a respectful, insightful and experienced point of view, which can offer some guidance and clarity, for individuals attempting to solve issues around relationship problems, career change, unresolved grief, anger management and self-confidence issues. Concerns like these can often be dealt with in a limited number of sessions.
Long Term Counselling
Concentrates on longer standing issues:
We may be suffering from constant periods of anxiety and depression that can leave us feeling helpless and inadequate. These feelings may be related to changes that have occurred in our lives, however, these feelings can also stem from something that we are unaware of, or are unable to remember. A respectful and empathetic therapeutic discussion can often unlock the underlying reasons behind issues and unravel them, so that psychological wounds are able to be healed. Regular sessions over several months can produce the maintenance of positive change.
