Sound Meditation is the practice of using music and sound which produces a vibration that taps into our body’s natural vibrations to clear your mind and bring you into a deep state of relaxation and meditation.
Using sound has ancient roots in cultures all over the world and these sessions use crystal singing bowls aligned to your chakras, gong, rain stick and Hawaiian instruments. Research shows that music has mental and physical health benefits in improving sleep, blood pressure, physical pain and mood by reducing stress, tension, anger, anxiety and fatigue. You don’t need to do anything or know how to meditate you can simply sit and enjoy the sound.
Crystal Singing Bowls
The crystal bowls are made from quartz and are tuned to 432hz frequency for optimal sound and vibrational healing. There are 7 bowls and each one is aligned with one of the 7 chakras and the notes in a scale:
Root/Base chakra - C note
Sacral chakra - D note
Solar plexus chakra - E note
Heart chakra – F note
Throat chakra – G note
Third eye chakra – A note
Crown chakra – B note
Each bowl has it’s own sound resonance which is harmonious to hear and vibrates through your whole body.
Chau Gong
This gong emits a distinct and grounding sound and has a range of volume and vibration depending on how it is played. For example the gong can emit a wave-like sound or a deep bellowing note. These complex overtones and smooth flow of sounds from the gong moves our brainwaves from the beta state (which is normal waking consciousness) into the lower alpha and theta states (where the mind is relaxed and can restore).
Gongs have been used in ceremonies for centuries and it is used in the meditation sessions for grounding, clearing and assisting you reach a state of calm.
Rain stick
Enjoy the gentle sound of rain. A rain stick gives a cascading, balanced and subtle sound that resembles falling rain, the sound is often relaxing and hypnotic.
