Coping with Treatments
Servicing areaPerth, Claremont and Bunbury or via Zoom
Patients with cancer frequently experience pain, sickness, nausea, and for women with breast cancer, hot flashes, loss of self-esteem, and fear of surgery. Some of the benefits of Hypnosis can include:
- Reduced pain and stress associated with cancer itself.
- A decrease in the after-effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments
- Improved mental state with less stress, less anxiety, and the feeling of greater control and acceptance of the situation
It would make sense that pain and anxiety are closely related, and anything that lessens one will also potentially lessen the other. Patients who undergo hypnosis before surgery or before chemotherapy or radiation therapy can heal faster, experience less pain, and therefore possibly need less pain medication, and can become less anxious about their situation.
Patients with cancer can use hypnosis to activate and trigger their immune system and aid their bodies in fighting the disease. Patients are often given instructions on using guided imagery to visualize their immune system working with their treatment.
Programs are best created for the individuals as each person will have their own uniques emotional cleaning that may be needed, as well as identifying unhelpful thoughts, emotions and feelings, then reframing to work with the subconscious and unconscious mind introduce new ways of thinking, and feeling.
