Feel Myotherapy - Myofascial Release & Lymphatic Drainage
Focus areas
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a form of treatment that has been specifically designed to realign our muscles and bones.
At the point when our muscles are pulled and held out of shape over some time, you will feel the tension, the burning feeling and the pain that is associated with trigger points. There is usually something else associated with muscles and bones being out of whack – our fascia.
Our fascia is a web like structure found throughout our entire body. Our fascial is spread out like a web across every muscle, muscle fibre, joint, tendon and ligament. This substance provides our body with tension and integrity to move and function the way that we do.
Everyday stresses – sitting, walking, standing all put pressure through our entire body, muscles and joints. As a Myotherapist I like to feel tension through the myofascia (myo=muscle) without oil first. I will feel the muscles and how tense they are so I can then work out how to treat your pain. I usually begin with a full body session, this allows me to feel where your tension goes and you can feel where there is other points of tension and stress in your body too. This way we have the same start in how to treat you. Sometimes it may feel a little uncomfortable, but I’m here to help you not hurt you!

Lymphatic Drainage
The lymphatic system is like a spider’s web that stretches all around our body. It is a strong, fine structure, that is similar to silk. It is located deep within us and superficial, laying just under our skin between the epidermis and muscles. Using a very gentle, and structured progressive forms of massage I am able to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid around the body.
It is a very soothing and relaxing method of treatment, dissimilar to other forms of massage treatment you may be used to. It does take longer to do, and I can treat a specific area, such as your neck and head. I would suggest your first manual lymphatic drainage treatment to be a full body experience so that you know what it should be like and then we can customise the treatment in the future.
