Howe Natural - Ear Candling
Focus areas
Ear Candling (also known as Ear Coning or Thermal-Auricular Therapy), is a natural remedy used to improve health and well-being. One end of a hollow candle is placed in the ear canal and the other end is lit, forming a vacuum, which gently draws out built up was and debris.
Ear Candling was used by many civilisations, including the Ancient Greeks and the native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona – which is where the contemporary use of the modality has stemmed from.
Ear Candling was traditionally used by Shaman healers and the technique is depicted in ancient wall paintings of tribal initiation rituals and healing ceremonies. The candles we use today are manufactured using the traditional Hopi methods.
An Ear Candling session takes around 20 minutes and is a pleasant, relaxing experience. Ear Candling is of benefit for people with ears blocked by wax, water, sand/dirt and air. It is also efficacious in the relief of sinus headaches and congestion from head colds - it is an alternative for those who are opposed to syringing.
