If we work together, you can expect that the process will always be collaborative, respectful, and curious. I invite you to ‘come as you are’ and I will meet you, without judgement. Showing up in therapy is an act of courage and I honour the vulnerability it takes to reach out.
I practice from the understanding that healing and real change requires a combination of both Talk Therapy (using the thinking brain) and Somatic Therapy (tuning into your body). This powerful combination allows us to align our body and mind which can lead to effective, long lasting and quick relief.
During our session I will guide you through a somatic practice known as EFT Tapping, which is a way to drop into your body and learn to trust what you find.
We will tap together, on our own acupoints on our face and upper body. I will ask you to tune into any parts of your body that may be calling your attention. By doing this we are gently activating and regulating the nervous system so that we can access what is going on subconsciously. We will observe what is happening within, offering self-compassion and acceptance.
Our bodies are always talking to us. It is just a matter of paying attention. Tapping allows us to truly hear our body's wisdom, giving space for stuck emotional memory to be processed and moved through.
Alongside Tapping there are a host of modalities such as IFS (Internal Family Systems), Art therapy, Somatic Experiencing and Gestalt that we can call on to suit your own unique therapeutic needs. I will always trust you to be the expert in your own experience and encourage you to provide feedback throughout our sessions.
I run my therapy practice from home so that I can work flexibly around the needs of my family. This means I am able to work with you to find a time that suits us both. As well as typical practice hours, I am available early mornings, after work hours and weekends. I am re-opening my books for the first time in over a year and currently have no waitlist.
