About Us


yoga is a sanskrit word usually translated as union. iyengar yoga is named after BKS Iyengar’s method of teaching yoga. the following points explain his method

• focusing on the alignment of your body increases awareness of the balance (or imbalance) between left and right, front and back, top and bottom of the body

• working on a range of asanas (poses) increases strength, stamina and stability

• controlled and precise movements work to gain and retain flexibility, mobility and improve range of motion

• props are adapted to the individuals needs to ensure that everyone can do the asana safely and to their own ability

• with increased body sensitivity and self-awareness your posture improves

• Mr Iyengar’s system of teaching enables students to progress confidently from beginner to long term proficient practitioner

• with sustained practice, students experience improved concentration, emotional stability and general well-being

Timetable


10 week term starts monday 16th july
$15 per class casual - term rates available

Thornton Hall:
Monday: 5-6.30pm
Wednesday: - 7-8.30pm

Elite Gym: classes strictly limited to maximum of 10, payment guarantees place
Tuesday: 6.30-8pm
Thursday: 6.30-8pm
