Reiki Healing for Stress & Relaxation
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on of hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki flushes energy through the meridians of the body, which bring old emotions to the surface to be healed and released.
I became a Reiki Master in 1999 and continued with my healing practice for 6 years. I incorporate Reiki into my massage therapy sessions, as it is a powerful tool to relax the clients at the end of their session and to balance and align their chakras to peace and harmony. In most cases they fall asleep on my table and enter a deep sleep for a period of 10-30 minutes. When they awake, they are fully relaxed and in a higher state of consciousness.
