She may include Reiki and some Craniosacral to help further soothe your body.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen is a system of precise moves conducted over muscles, tendons, nerves, and fascia. The moves are performed using the thumbs and fingers of the therapist and with the level of pressure tailored to your preference. Thus, this technique is wonderful for the elderly, sick and the newly born as it accommodates for all individuals.

The treatment involves a specific sequence of moves tailored for specific alignments or imbalances within a client’s body. There are frequent pauses which allow the body time to respond to the treatment information. In Bowen less is more. Bowen creates the “nudge” that the body responds to make change. Bowen prompts the body’s own innate ability to create change and bring it back to a place of homeostasis.

Bowen relieves issues/conditions such as:

    • Knee and other joint problems
    • Migraine
    • Sinus
    • Hormonal imbalances
    • Sports injuries
    • Muscular strain
    • Wry neck
    • Lymphatic congestion
    • Circulation
    • Digestive complaints
    • TMJ pain
    • Tinnitus

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands-on healing technique, which evaluates and enhances the functioning of the physiological body system. The therapy works by helping the body’s natural healing mechanisms dissipate the negative effects of stress on the central nervous system. The cranium is the soft tissue of the head. The sacral area is the spine down to the tail end, and the pelvis. The Craniosacral system is made of membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. An important role of the Craniosacral system is the production, circulation and re-absorption of cerebrospinal fluid.

CST (Craniosacral Therapy) assists in building general well-being and a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. It is non-intrusive therapy that works the entire structure, physiology, mind and spirit.

Dry Needling

    • Dry needling is the use of fine needles, the type used in acupuncture, to create change in tight and tense muscles, or trigger points.
    • Dry needling conducted properly will cause a response within the muscle, a localised twitch response this is an involuntary response of muscle elicited by a spinal nerve response. The muscle will contract and release hormones of serotonin, histamines and endorphins, creating a chemical change within the muscle structure.
