Cradle cap

Cradle cap is a form of dermatitis on the scalp that is common in infants. It is a temporary condition and is harmless. It is also not contagious. Symptoms of cradle cap include greasy, yellow, scaling patches that may cause the scalp to be covered in a thick, scaly layer, and flaky, dry skin. Treatment may include applying a natural oil to the scalp, leaving it overnight, and then brushing the hair in the morning to remove scales before washing hair well with baby shampoo. Other treatment options include medicated shampoos or cortisone cream in severe cases, herbal remedies, and homoeopathy.
