Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea is when a person’s airway is temporarily partially or fully closed when sleeping. Symptoms include daytime sleepiness, non-restorative sleep, personality changes, decreased memory, depression, loud snoring, and morning headaches. Treatments for obstructive sleep apnea include weight reduction, positional therapy, positive pressure therapy, oral appliances, surgery, and avoiding alcohol and sedatives.
