Tics

Tics are repeated involuntary muscle movements or vocalizations. They often occur in the face or in other extremities. This may be caused by disorders of the nervous system, Tourette’s syndrome, or times of extreme stress. Symptoms include twitches, involuntary eye blinking, involuntary shoulder shrugging, and repeated identical movements. Treatments for tics include medication, biofeedback, behavioral therapy, and counseling.
