Kids love Sandplay! It incorporates the world that they orientate from, creativity. It feels natural, nurturing and inviting to them. This is what makes Sandplay for Children so powerful, it draws them in with a sense of play and openness. With this said, it is far from play. A deeper essence from within them, drives the therapy. This part knows and holds their deepest, real thoughts and feelings. Every piece they put in the sand tray, speaks of how they are interpreting their life experiences.

Sandplay Therapy is an approach to counselling. It is held in a age appropriate way; whether you are 5, 15 or 50. Is a powerful tool to support the develop of emotional intelligence (EQ).

I was reading the Australian Family Magazine, Spring 2014, Edition 34, feature article 'EQ NOT IQ - how emotions impact on family life' and thought to myself YES, this is why I am passionate about my work and how wonderful it is that we are reading about it. The article opens with "Emotional intelligence matters at every age. If all other things are equal, it makes the difference between fitting in or being left out; feeling resilient or stressed; having motivation or being stuck in procrastination. The same emotional skills that make life easier in toddlerhood contribute to our success and happiness in adulthood". Does this talk to you?
