What is Relaxation Massage?
A Relaxation massage is exactly that – a relaxing and soothing massage to help release tension, stress, improve your circulation and overall general wellbeing.
Also known as Swedish Massage, this gentle form of massage is what most people think of when they first think of massage. Aiming to induce a deep state of relaxation, this classic massage incorporates long gliding strokes along with circular pressure applied by hands and palms. Your therapists may also incorporate joint movement for the purpose of relieving muscle tension. The main focus of a Relaxation Massage is to induce full body relaxation and is perfect for de-stressing and nurturing the body and mind.
The massage strokes applied by your therapist are specially targeting the path of blood flow back to the heart. This serves to increase oxygen levels in your blood while boosting your immune system. A Relaxation massage tends to be directed at the superficial layers of the muscle in a light rhythmic manner to release muscle tension.

What is Deep Tissue Massage?
As the name suggests this type of massage consists of slower strokes and deep pressure on areas of tension and contraction. Recommended for clients with long term problems of the back or with specific muscle aches, this treatment usually focuses on particular body areas compared to a whole-body relaxation massage.
Deep tissue massages are effective for many chronic pain conditions. It is important to know that it isn’t unusual to feel a degree of discomfort during this type of massage. The whole point of this treatment is to break up muscle tension, adhesions and scar tissue which often lie in deeper musculature, so your therapist will likely be applying a good deal of pressure. However, you should let them know if this becomes too uncomfortable.

What is Remedial Massage?
This massage is designed for people wanting a more targeted, specific result. It’s a combination of techniques including deep tissue, trigger point release and stretching. The focus will be on a specific area or complaint/injury rather than an all over body treatment.
A full assessment is done prior to the massage so that a treatment plan along with expected results and outcome can be discussed.
