Carolyn Boniface - Rolf Structural Integration
What Is The Rolf Method of Structural Intergration?
The Rolf Method of Structural Intergation is a hands-on, thorough, ten session process that addresses the totality of the organism. It has remarkable success in solving chronic pain issues and postural problems. It invokes order, organization, harmony and balance in the human system, as it relates to the earth's gravitational field.
Traditionally, Rolf practitioners seek to modify structure through direct manipulation and pressure to the connective tissue barrier. This invariably involves an element of force and pushing the system. In essence, the practitioner imposes his or her "footprint" into your body.
My approach to this work is unique and based on Biodynamic Principles, meaning no force is ever applied to the body to initiate change. A comfortable, respectful relationship and communication is established with the deeper fluid matrix and life force potency. Through skillful synchronization with the fluid dynamics, the system opens up, expands, holding patterns disengage, life force potency flows unimpeded permitting contracted, inert, isolated fragments to reorganize, reorient and homogenize into a single unit of functional wholeness.
The Rolf ten series is the work of genius of Dr.Ida P. Rolf. Each session covers a specific physical territory and creates a complementary foundation for the subsequent session as the work slowly unfolds from superficial to core depth to the place of integration with the whole.
Expect a 100% painfree journey and to be deeply respected. My approach is very suitable to the super sensitive and those who seek what Rolf work offers but do not enjoy the intrusion of deep tissue work.

About The Founder
The Rolf Method of Structural Integration was developed in the USA over 40 years ago by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D. Dr. Rolf was a biochemist researching collagen, chemotherapy and organic chemistry for the Rockefellar Institute. Her extensive search for solutions to a family health problem and her dissatisfaction with available medical treatments led her to study Osteopathy, Chiropractic medicine, yoga, the Alexander Technique, homoeopathy and Korzybski's work on consciousness. She was fascinated with human structure and its effect on human function. During her scientific research and hands on experience she made a fundamental discovery regarding the body's plasticity. A system of work emerged which she called Structural Integration. Before her death, Ida said Rolfing would evolve and become more refined. It was for her students to find the way.......
The Alignment Factor
One of the fundamental goals and educational objectives of the Rolf Method of Structural Integration is to align the body in the earth's gravitational field. This is accomplished in part when the major body segments, freed from inertia, are brought into horizontal tensional balance over the vertical centre of gravity of the segment below.
In a Biodynamic approach, this balanced alignment occurs as a singular event where there is no seperaton of "parts". It is a physical/psycho/spiritual alignment with the present moment and larger Field Matrix. It is experienced as a simultaneous internal sense of being earthed while experiencing spontaneous lift, expansive spaciousness, centred being, presence and as the place where one stands in ones truth and purpose.
When individuals come into their Line, they tend to choose a life direction more in line with who they really are. It is not uncommon for people who have completed the ten sessions process to leave destructive relationships, unfulfilling jobs or to find themselves pursuing a passion they had abandoned years ago. Individuals also frequently report the ability to stay centred, serene and focused when faced with life's challenges. True alignment opens individual potential.
What Does A Treatment Feel Like?
In my approach to this work, a treatment is a deeply relaxing experience. Many individuals drop into a therapeutic "zone", a space of pre-sleep where insights and memories may arise. Sensations of warmth, heat, expansion and fluid movements may occur and a deep sense of serenity and inner stillness are common.
Postural and movement education as well as awareness coaching is an integral part of the structural integration journey and brings and added dimension to the process of organized change.
Stress and psychological issues frequently resolve as the individual comes to a place of spacious inner calmness, clarity and presence, the hallmark of true centeredness. This work is a genuine support and compliment to any spiritual or psychological work an individual may be engaged in.
