Traditional Chinese Medicine explains how a diagnosis is made, and prescriptions are made and taken.
Chinese Herbal Medicine comes in a variety of forms: raw herbs which are to be boiled, or in the form of pills and powder. In Chinese tonic herbalism, we use the law of yin and yang regularly. Tonic herbs are recognised according to yin and yang. It is the attempt of tonic herbalism to provide yin and yang energy in an appropriate balance so that the individually will achieve a balanced and harmonised body with optimal health. Therefore it is integral to identify which balance of yin and yang is appropriate to the individual unique needs. An individual who is presenting with signs of yin deficiency will do well to take more yin herbs whilst an individual who is presenting with signs of yang deficiency should be taking more yang herbs.
