About Me
John Smith (BEd) is an experienced manual and movement therapist. He is an Advanced Rolfer, a Rolf Movement teacher and Feldenkrais practitioner. He also works and is available for Trager work, Craniosacral Therapy, postural assessment, sports, deep tissue and remedial massage, and myofascial release work.
Although modern manual therapies are highly successful in treating a variety of physical issues and painful conditions, they can also enrich the life of those who are not suffering significant issues – providing a sense of poise, ease, effortlessness and even joy in movement.

Rolfing® is a sophisticated, powerful and scientifically validated somatic system for dealing with problems of posture, restricted movement, and tension-related conditions. It consists of 10 sessions of soft-tissue manipulation and movement education aimed at establishing an easy and erect alignment of the body, and a sense of grace and ease of movement.
The way we move is like a signature - unique to us. We all develop habitual ways of moving and postural habits that usually serve us well, but may also cause asymmetry, overuse, discomfort and even pain.
The Trager approach is a light, non-intrusive method of movement re-education that addresses the integration of the mind and body. Like many movement approaches it aims to release long-term, deep-seated physical and mental patterns through gentle hands-on work.
