The Harmonic Sounding Workshops are designed for anyone who wants to experience a higher level of happiness which can be achieved by using your own individualistic sound for self transformation and healing. The philosophy behind harmonic sounding is that the body is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Illness is caused by disharmony within the body, mind and emotions. Sound healing helps to bring the body, mind and emotions back into harmony with the soul or spirit. We will also discover the power of the voice using various exercises to awaken the resonating chambers of the inner voice. Finally we will be using the singing voice to improvise and work through a variety of universal songs.
NB: No need for audition or previous experience
Singing is fun and there are so many benefits associated with singing physically, mentally and socially. Singing is naturally uplifting, because when you sing, your mood changes as you focus on the task at hand. Your level of stress diminishes and your feeling of well being increases as does your self esteem. All types of singing have positive psychological effects. The act of singing releases endorphins, the brain’s “feel good” chemicals. Singing also has some of the same health benefits as exercise.
Regina has come from a very musical background. Her family made numerous theatre, and television performances including the B.B.C. She developed skills in voice production from a very early age, learning speech training with Lillian Boyes, trinity college London. She also received voice production tuition from Daniel James of Ensemble theatre Sydney, and from Doreen Ball’s Old Tote theatre Company which is now N.I.D.A.
The classes will incorporate voice production and toning techniques, which Increases the projection and resonancing capacity of the voice, to deliver a richer more confident vocal tone.
Singing regulates, sustains and deepens the breath, increasing the sensitivity of our hearing and refines the internal sensing process. Singing resonates with the entire physical body and electro-magnetic field, fully engaging the mind, giving the emotions a vehicle for expression and an overall sense of well-being.
When we combine the singing of sustained pitches with specific vowels and directed concentration we, revitalize our internal organs, balance our chakras and calm our nervous system. In short, the quality of our voice can be a reflection of our emotional, physical, and spiritual condition.
Music is an incredibly powerful modality because it is a language that bypasses the intellect. It’s a language that we all understand intuitively.
