Hypnotherapy is a marvellous tool to bypass the conscious critical analytical mind and make profound changes in beliefs at the subconscious level. Hypnosis is a safe modality and has been practised for hundreds of years. Although similar to sleep, the body remains awake and the subconscious mind is highly receptive to positive suggestions. It is a state of focused concentration for the subconscious mind.
The hypnotherapist gently relaxes the client into a state of lowered brainwave frequency and the client is usually fully aware of everything she or Michelle says during hypnosis. Usually blood pressure lowers during hypnosis and the pulse rate often slows. It is deeply relaxing for both body and mind for most people. There are few contraindications for its use apart from those with psychotic behaviour or Grand Mal epilepsy.
Behaviours and beliefs that have stubbornly resisted change in many other therapies can often be permanently altered under hypnosis as the subconscious cause of the issue is accessed, resulting in lasting positive changes.
Michelle has had a lot of experience working with Hypnotherapy for:
- Stop Smoking
- Stress Management
- Getting Rid of Limiting Beliefs
- Self-Esteem / Confidence
- Grief
- Anxiety

- Insomnia
- SOUL RETRIEVAL THERAPY
- INNER CHILD THERAPY

FAQs
How does it feel to be hypnotised?
The physical feeling of hypnosis is of deep comfort and relaxation, which has the benefit of stress reduction in addition to the other aims of the therapy. For the vast majority of people being in a hypnotic trance is a highly enjoyable experience.
Will I fall asleep and not remember what is going on during a Hypnotherapy session?
You are in a natural state of deep relaxation where you will generally hear everything that Michelle says to you. If Michelle asks you, you will be able to answer questions using the voice while under hypnosis. The subconscious mind becomes highly focused allowing access to information held at subconscious levels.
Do you as the hypnotist have control over me?
In Clinical Hypnotherapy the focus is on your problem and my role is to facilitate the process by guiding your subconscious mind in the direction it needs to go to resolve troublesome issues.
What if you can't hypnotise me?
You may feel some anxiety about being hypnotised for the first time. This is quite normal. I work with you to allay your initial fears and to dispel any myths or misconceptions about Hypnotherapy before guiding you progressively into a deeply relaxed state. Success with hypnosis has to do with your ability to listen and to follow directions. Most people can be hypnotised, but some people are more hypnotisable than others. About 10% are hypnotisable to extreme depths.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
As hypnosis is not sleep and you are generally aware of all that goes on during your session, you are also the person who can bring yourself out of hypnosis. There is no "getting stuck" in hypnosis.
