College of Complementary Medicine

This unique, experiential  course will equip you with the skills to develop programmes  for client groups across a range of environments. The skills learnt are applicable  to managing challenging, complex or high demand groups. It is designed with a focus on creative expression, is imaginative and the training is person focused.   
You will learn how to structure and implement groups with creativity and flair and bring the very best out in the participants.  You will learn the skills and tools to set meaningful goals and objectives and work in imaginative ways to achieve results. Your spontaneity and verve will be enhanced through ‘edge-walking liminality of’ group activities, challenges, and play.

Group facilitators using expressive arts, can provide services to a wide range of groups including health, well-being, spiritual, personal development, mental health, art therapy, youth and community groups.  Graduates of this course will gain the skills and knowledge to plan and conduct group activities which is highly valued by organisations.

Career Outcomes

Upon completion of this course the opportunities are vast.  You will be qualified to work in organization, or become self employed as a group facilitator or consultant. Being a creative groupworker enhances any skill base you already have be it teacher, social worker, community worker, counsellor, human resources officer.
