HOW?
Traditional Chinese Medicine dates from ancient times, and views the human body and its functions as an energetic or qi system. Disruptions to the flow of qi result in pain or illness, and the techniques of acupuncture, Chinese herbalism and moxibustion alleviate symptoms by bringing balance to qi circulation.

In Chinese medicine there is no such thing as one size fits all. Traditional diagnostic techniques allow me to read your body and identify your individual qi pattern, then devise a treatment to address your specific requirements.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?
On the first visit, I ask questions regarding your complaint as well as your general health. Then I’ll examine your pulse and meridians for the condition of qi flow. These observations help me to determine which techniques to use to alleviate your complaint.

I then perform acupuncture and moxibustion at various locations on the body, including the abdomen, feet and back.

WHY TREAT THE WHOLE BODY?
I treat the whole body to optimize the flow of qi throughout and achieve better, longer lasting results. It also enables me to address multiple symptoms at once.

RESULTS TO EXPECT
Apart from getting relief from symptoms, patients leave the clinic relaxed and feel a lasting improvement in their general functioning: better sleep, more energy, calmness, regularity of bowel movements etc. These results are to be expected when qi flow is at its best.

THE JAPANESE WAY
Japanese acupuncture techniques are not only subtle, using finer needles and shallower insertion, but the most powerful I have encountered, achieving remarkable and consistent results among patients of all ages with a wide variety of ailments.

In Japan I trained with one of Japan’s most eminent acupuncturists and herbalists, who has now been in practice for over forty years. There I learned techniques I couldn’t have learned anywhere else. My teacher passed to me techniques he had learned from years training with his teachers, who learned from their teachers, and so on.

The beauty of training in a traditional clinic is that these techniques have been tested, refined and improved through generations of clinical practice. These techniques were not learned overnight and I was required to practice constantly until they became second nature.

WHAT IS YOUR BODY TYPE?
Each human being is unique. We come in all shapes, sizes and levels of vitality. Therefore each of us has our own unique requirements in terms of medicine, lifestyle and diet.

Classification of physical constitutions according to Chinese medical principles enables me to understand what treatment or lifestyle advice is suitable for each patient.

A WORD ON FERTILITY TREATMENT
Fertility has been a high priority in Chinese culture since ancient times, reflected in thousands of years of Chinese medical tradition specializing in this area.

Recent studies show that acupuncture significantly improves the success rate of IVF. Many women would not require IVF if they tried Chinese medicine first, and in the process of improving fertility, Chinese medicine reduces menstrual pain, regulates the menstrual cycle, reduces PMS and increases vitality without side effects.
