Brain Gym is an inspired system that was developed by learning specialist Paul E. Dennison, Ph.D.,and Gail E. Dennison, providing enjoyable, simple physical sequences to improve our ability to process and learn information and therefore interact with the world around us effectively and easily.
Brain Gym is made up of 26 fundamental movements (however it is important to recognise there are a lot more) and introductory courses for example Brain Gym 101 and 170 Brain Gym for Special Needs that make up a type of body of work called Educational Kinesiology (Edu-K).
These 26 moves assist in supporting the physical skills of learning, living and simply being. The movements are specifically designed to be enjoyable and easy for children, adults and are easily acceptable for elderly people and for those who have additional requirements.
Brain Gym has a number of different uses. Brain Gym is able to support:
- focus, and attention
- comprehension,
- communication,
- organisation,
- coordination,
- memory and more.
