How does counselling work?
Counselling provides a safe, supportive environment to allow you to explore what is concerning you, learn about & accept yourself, feel happier, more content and learn skills to help you cope better with life’s ups and downs.
Ear Candling
Zoë Browning Ph 8598 9804
Ear candling is a technique that has been used from ancient times. A hollow candle that tapers at one end fits into the ear. The opposite end is set to flame creating a vacuum that cleanses residue out of the ear. Through a process called "convection", softer waxes and toxins are drawn out of the ear, oxidized and turned into vapors during the procedure. This simple and time-proven therapy can be very effective in removing old and troublesome blockages from the ear canal and sinus passages, without the use of solutions or probes.

Remedial, Sports & Deep-Tissue Massage - is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It aims to release your aches and pains caused by the chronic build up of tension in the body. The massage uses slow strokes and deep direct finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the muscle fibers, tendons and fascia. Also helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue.
Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific tension areas and may cause some soreness during or soon after the massage. The client should feel much better within a day or two.
Relaxation Swedish Massage - Generally regarded as the most common form of massage, Swedish massage involves a combination of five basic strokes and concentrates on the muscles and connective tissues of the body for improved circulation, relaxation, pain relief, and overall health maintenance and well being. Relaxation is the primary goal and in the hour consultation a full body massage is achieved.
Pregnancy Massage- For pregnant women, we have specialised massage equipment allowing the mother-to-be to comfortably lie on her belly/front. This allows us to effectively massage her sore neck, shoulders and back, and she finally get to enjoy the experience of lying face down.
Our pampering massage technique is specifically designed to alleviate muscle tension and aches, to relieve swelling and promote a general state of wellness. Massaging taut skin can assist in reducing stretch marks and nourish the skin.
Our treatment rooms are warm and peaceful, with relaxing music and gentle lighting. It is the ideal setting to unwind and relax.

What I love about massage is the reconnection that it brings between mind and body. It is an opportunity to stop worrying and thinking about everyday life, and to just relax and become aware of your breath and the sensation of touch.
My other passion is stretching. I believe that to achieve permanent change in our bodies (rather than a quick fix), we need to actively work towards using our bodies correctly by strengthening weak areas and stretching tight muscles and fascia. Again, an hour of stretching is a great opportunity to really feel what is happening in your body and to learn how to relax.
Home Visits
I offer a home visit service that I find to be very popular with couples with young children.
Naturopathy – Zoë Browning (03) 8598 9804
BHSC - Naturopathy
Why See a Naturopath?
Naturopathic medicine treats the patient from the preventive stage through to serious, chronic and debilitating disease. Therefore, people can go to Naturopaths for example colds, bronchitis, allergies, digestive and reproductive problems, as well as for heart disease, diabetes, and malignant diseases. Naturopaths do not simply treat the manifestation of the disease, but rather search for the cause and treat it.
How do Naturopaths treat?
Naturopathy is a distinct system of non-invasive healthcare and health assessment in which neither surgery nor drugs are used.
Treatment is based on:
- Education
- Counselling and lifestyle
- Naturopathic modalities and natural substances.
These include the use of foods, food extracts, herbal medicines, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, topical natural substances, iridology, homeopathic preparations, ear candling and the physical modalities of bodywork, massage and exercise to help stimulate and maintain the individual's intrinsic self-healing processes.
Quite simply naturopathy is a system, which is concerned with the whole person, rather than just the problems afflicting his/her various organs and systems. Naturopathy recognizes and uses the fact that the body is a self-healing organism, working with the knowledge that if the right environment and opportunity for self-healing can be created repair, recovery and good health will result.
Osteopathy - Alicia Tye-Smith Ph: 9593 6333
About St. Kilda Osteopathy
Head Osteopath Dr. Alicia Tye-Smith’s very caring and professional approach has lead her to develop a very broad and loyal patient base. Alicia was lead to study osteopathy through her own sporting experiences having competed at a national level of track and field for over 10 years (and still competing). The idea that the body was treated as a ‘whole’ in long detailed consultations and treatments included both ‘joint manipulations’ and ‘soft tissue’ work was very appealing as a competing athlete. Alicia has been a past scholarship holder with The Victorian Institute of Sport and has complemented her osteopathic experiences with 6-years of sports/remedial massage therapy. She has worked extensively with local football clubs as a sports trainer and volunteered her manual therapy services for The Great Victorian Bike Ride, fun runs and triathlons around Victoria. Alicia has also donated services to help raise money for local triathletes competing in the World Triathlon Championships in Hawaii. St. Kilda Osteopathy is proud to begin sponsoring 3 local swimming clubs and support local junior talent. We wish our athletes all the best!
Why choose St. Kilda Osteopathy?
Our aim is to not only treat your injured area, but to provide you with the appropriate knowledge on how to best prevent the injury/condition from occurring through strengthening, stretching, postural and nutritional advice. Long initial consultations help provide your osteopath with the ability to assess the injury and also the surrounding areas to determine if any secondary biomechanical changes have taken place. It is very important to us that you understand your condition, as this will also aid the fastest path to full recovery.
Reflexology - Des Fleming - 0421 808 092

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a unique method of stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities. A Reflexologist works on the reflex areas, which are located in the feet, head and hands, in order to enhance wellbeing.
Chill
The essence of Chill is relaxation. I believe this is the basis of physical and emotional wellbeing. Whilst enjoying a deeply satisfying treatment you can rest assured that you are looking after your health.
The Session
A usual session lasts an hour, during which time I’ll work on your feet and sometimes your hands and head, if need be. Reflexology is non-invasive, so don’t panic, all you need to do is take off your shoes and socks, before getting comfortable.
“Remember you don’t need to be suffering to benefit. Reflexology is a safe and natural way of maintaining optimal health and vitality.”
The Benefits
- reduces stress and tension by calming the nervous system.
- aids detoxification by improving blood supply.
- releases energy blockages by stimulating the relevant reflex areas and meridians.
Reflexology has provided relief from:
- Sleeping difficulties
- Headaches
- Sinusitis
- Arthritis
- Digestive disorders
- Allergies and much more
I had my first Reflexology session in my home town of Dublin, Ireland in August of 1998. At the time I was suffering from severe sinusitis. I’d never even heard of reflexology until discussing my condition with a friend of mine, an actress who utilised its benefits to relax before a performance. “Why not?” I thought it can’t hurt, at this stage I’d tried conventional medicine, acupuncture and Chinese medicine all of which had proved mildly successful, but none of them felt like the treatment my body needed. At the very least Reflexology would be a chance to unwind and the thought of a whole hour of attention on my feet was very appealing. I was hooked from the first session and found after a course of treatments that not only was there significant relief from the sinusitis, but overall I felt so much better. Reflexology is by far the most nurturing natural therapy I have experienced in my life. I invite you to come, enjoy a session and experience ‘chill’ for yourself.
