Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
What is Neuro Emotional Technique?
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a mind-body approach that focuses on the treatment of stress-related conditions. NET is based on mind-body techniques that recognise and alleviate neurological imbalances that are associated with physiology and unresolved stress. It determines the relationship between the body's emotional health, environmental toxicity, nutritional balance and structural integrity to help improve physical and behavioural conditions.
How Does Neuro Emotional Technique Work?
NET works with the nervous system and neurological pathways to relieve unresolved stress in both the present and the past. Located in the brain is the limbic system which comprises various brain structures and is responsible for the regulation of basic emotions such as sadness, fear and pleasure. Also, it stores or encodes memories from past emotions.
Whenever the brain thinks that the person is in danger (whether they are or not), or whenever a person is faced with a stimulus similar to something negative that has happened in the past, the limbic system lights up. In response to this, the body releases stress chemicals. Over time, negative emotions may lead to the formation of diseases and illnesses.
NET is a holistic approach to wellbeing that focuses on identifying underlying stress patterns and utilising the acupuncture system. It allows the practitioner to help neutralize these stress patterns, which leads to the extinction of the stress response to the old memory (stimuli). Not only does NET help with emotional patterns and trauma, but it also helps with physical pain related to a past emotional event.
NET locates trapped or conditioned memory loops by using simple muscle testing techniques. It allows the practitioner to identify the body's stand in relation to the unresolved emotional event or trauma. To proceed with the necessary adjustments and corrections, the client is requested to form a mental picture of the original triggering event. Then, the body will assume an emotional state that aligns with the originating feelings.
During the correction process, the practitioner may work on specific acupuncture or reflex points to address the specific body point linked with the unresolved emotional response. The body will then release the emotion associated with the event.
What are the Benefits of Neuro Emotional Technique?
By identifying unresolved emotions stored in the body, NET is able to shift patterned thoughts and behaviour stored in the client's subconscious mind that hinder them from progressing in life. Addressing the root cause of these emotional blocks will help address a range of stress-related physical conditions such as:
- Body pains
- Headaches or migraines
- Self-destructive habits or behaviours
- Organ dysfunctions
- Fears and phobias
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Hormonal imbalances
- Sleep issues
It should be remembered that NET is not a cure but rather a tool that helps remove blocks to the body's natural vitalism, allowing it to naturally heal itself.
What Can You Expect From Neuro Emotional Technique?
A typical NET session can last for 15 minutes to 30 minutes, depending on the issue at hand. Before the treatment proper, the practitioner will have a short interview with the client to gain insight into the overall state of their health and level of stress. The client's goals and expectations shall also be discussed.
Throughout the duration of the treatment, the client will be seated comfortably on a chair, fully clothed, while the practitioner performs manual muscle testing on their arm. It's a safe and painless procedure for identifying the root cause of a negative emotion and when they first occurred.
To eliminate the emotional blockages or stressors, the practitioner may work on different acupuncture points, reflex points, or even apply visualisation techniques. Once the negative emotional stress response has been cleared out, the client will notice a sense of lightness and clarity.
Is Neuro Emotional Technique Safe?
NET is not only safe but an extremely effective tool for resolving a variety of health problems that are deeply rooted in emotional stressors. Anyone, even children and elderly folks, can benefit from this modality so long as they are capable of communicating their feelings.
