Ayurveda is an ancient philosophy based on eternal truths about the human body, mind, and spirit. It aims to bring us into our own unique state of balance and well-being. Although it originated in India thousands of years ago it is relevant and appropriate for the present day western society.
As a knowledgeable and experienced naturopath, working with people on a daily basis, the introduction of Ayurveda has made my recommendations and treatments a lot more specific than when I was using only naturopathic principles. The outcome has improved wellbeing and health for my clients, as well as for myself and by large family.
Ayurveda provides us with more choice when working with our own health, and thus it is highly empowering. Simple changes or alterations in our lifestyle and diet can make huge improvements in our health. If dis-ease is manifesting more strongly then the treatment will need strong balancing agents like medicinal herbs, or specialised hands-on therapies. If we catch where we are out of balance early enough then it is easier to rebalance.
