Juggling work and family commitments? An online or correspondence course allows you to fit study around your other obligations. Many courses offer online forums and support, so you may not even notice youre not in a classroom!
What is the difference between campus & online study options?
The primary differences between on campus and online is that on-campus students have face to face lectures and tutorials and the many students study full time. The online courses interact and collaborate though online forums and also have the opportunity to come in for residential clinic hours, bringing students face to face with real clients.
Online study is an attractive option for those who need more flexibility in their schedule and who wish to study part time. For example it can take up to 4-5 years to complete an Advanced Diploma of Nutrition or Naturopathy, but students can fast track this if they choose to.
Which Program Should I Choose?
If you want to dip your toe into a new modality, you can enrol in a short course. This is ideal for getting a feel for the therapy before committing to a more intensive course of study.
Depending on the industry, you may be able to then progress to a certificate, diploma or advanced diploma course. For instance, to study chiropractic, youll need to study for at least four years and pass a series of exams.
How Should I Choose a College?
When comparing course providers, grab a piece of paper and jot down the questions you want answered. Find out how the course is offered, its accreditation, teachers and syllabus. Ask about the ratio of practical to theoretical modules, and whether VET FEE-HELP is offered to help you pay for your studies.
