Lakeside Remedial Massage

Helping you Enjoy Life! Whether you are after a remedial or relaxation massage we can help you.

Lakeside Remedial Massage

I’m an accredited Myotherapist, using many techniques such as Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Joint Mobilisation, Dry Needling, Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), exercise recommendations, and many more.

I differentiate myself by providing Orthopaedic assessment, diagnosis and specialised treatments to patients looking to rehabilitate after sports injuries and post-surgery, or for those who are suffering from chronic or acute musculoskeletal pain conditions.
I’m pleased to let you know that I’ve had a high success rate in pain relief for clients with non-specific neck & back pain, tendinosis (also known as tendonitis), and a range of other ailments.

I’m also committed to the ongoing education & research for new ideas and treatments to offer my clients.

During your first consultation, I take the time to discuss your health concerns and have you complete a health questionnaire to ascertain your exact concerns. I’ll then discuss your health goals and explain how I can help you. This provides me with a baseline for your tailored individual treatment, all based on your needs, goals and specific conditions.
By using a variety of professional techniques, I aim to relieve the pain and discomfort of your muscular problems.

I can help treat the pain symptoms of muscle strain, shoulder and upper thoracic stiffness, sciatica, lower back pain, tension headaches, provide relaxation techniques to combat stress, and much more.
You should feel free to ask questions and discuss the recommended treatment plan.

The clinic is open Tuesday to Saturday, by appointment only. I look forward to being able to assist you.

SERVICES

Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is an advanced form of massage given by a therapist who has a broader understanding of anatomy and physiology.

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage ultimately relaxes the body and mind by the use of long, smooth, gliding strokes which are rhythmic and flowing. It is a form of massage which aims to deeply relax the body without pain, whilst restoring it back to balance.

Massage triggers the body’s relaxation response, interrupting a cycle of stress and muscle tension that can accumulate in response to life’s challenges, bringing about a sense of total relaxation.

Sports Injuries and Prevention
Sports massage is aimed at minimising inflammation and soreness pre or post activity.

Lighter, longer strokes are used to increase circulation, which in turn flushes out toxins and helps to promote your body’s natural healing process.

Myotherapy
Myotherapy is all about identifying and addressing the underlying causes of musculoskeletal conditions, as well as treating symptoms.
Techniques used in Myotherapy are implemented with a long term pain relief solution in mind.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a type of therapy that focuses on relieving tension and realigning deeper layers of muscles.
It is used for chronic ache and pain in contracted areas, such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
With chronic muscle tension or injury, there may be adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and/or ligaments. Adhesions can disrupt circulation causing pain, limited range of movement, and cause inflammation.

Trigger Point Massage
When a muscle is over stretched or strained through injury or postural restriction, it will develop intense areas of contracted muscle fibres called trigger points (knots). These occur throughout the body in a relatively predictable pattern.

Joint Mobilisation
If joints become locked or restricted in any particular direction, you may experience pain and/or stiffness.
Joint Mobilisation techniques focus on attaining a full/normal range of pain-free joint motion.
This therapy consists of gentle joint movement, traction/distraction, basic and advanced mobilizations, muscle energy techniques (MET), and gliding mobilizations.
This technique is a gentle and safe alternative to chiropractic joint manipulation.

Dry Needling
Dry Needling seeks to relieve the pain caused by musculoskeletal dysfunction through relaxing muscle trigger points — these are taut bands that develop within a muscle as a result of stresses such as poor posture, repetitive actions, or emotional trauma.
The Trigger point can often refer pain and create dysfunction in other parts of the body.
