A modern take on meditation
Learn how to stay focussed, present and calm in a world that's full of distraction
Meditation encompasses a range of practises that are designed to cultivate a state of mind which is calm, concentrated and absorbed in the present moment. In the past, it's been affiliated with images of the Buddha sitting beneath the Banyan tree, or groups of spiritual seekers seeking enlightenment, but today meditation is appearing in unexpected mainstream places of our society.
From children learning mindfulness in primary school; to athletes sharpening their focus; corporate employees sitting in on seminars to improve performance; to tradies and housewives in Stress Reduction Programs...the reach is broad because the simple fact is that we can all benefit from meditation.
If you don’t yet have a daily meditation routine established, it only takes 5-10 minutes a day to start. Once you have that habit, you can build on it. It’s establishing the routine that matters and you can increase the length of time as you go.
Reduce stress, improve quality of sleep, increase vitality and slow age related brain loss. Meditation also assists in pain relief/management, curtails anxiety and supports the body’s immune system.
Becoming more aware of what’s happening here and now improves performance, memory, decision making and creativity. Moving beyond the mental chatter brings the present moment into focus.
Develop patience, self discipline, equanimity and courage. Increase empathy and compassion. Strengthen children to steer away from peer pressure and the possibility of destructive choices.
At Breathe123, we take a modern approach to meditation and mindfulness. From the 9-to-5 professional to the
stay-at-home mum, more and more people are realising the benefits of the practice.
A lot of us are caught in the 'busy' trap and it can be hard to find mental space amongst the chatter. While it feels great to be on the go, this also means that our minds are constantly worrying, thinking and detached from what's going on in the moment.
Meditation has been proven to help alleviate anxiety, enhance creatively and increase productivity. By learning how to pause, it becomes easy to stay focussed, and pay attention to the things that matter most and improve overall quality of life.
Breathe 123 has has no specific affiliation to any particular meditation philosophy or style. Led by certified meditation teachers, sessions are designed to develop patience, clarity, empathy, humility, self discipline, courage and gratitude. Over time, you will be able to:
