Registered International Counsellor and Certified International Coach with special focus on Mindfulness-based approaches. Experienced in mental health related fields since 2004.
I have made it my personal mission as a mental health professional and life coach to help clients manage and/or remove symptoms of anxiety, depression, mental ill-health and stress, so they can continuously find balance in their personal and professional lives.
Imagine being able to prime your brain in such a way that you are able to weather any storm -personal or professional- and come out "ok". That's the hope and expectation that new neuro-science based techniques provide to the mental health field. You can learn to become virtually immune to "problems".
My main focus is on simplifying life, utilising Mindfulness-based approaches and techniques formally (through brain training, inner exercises and meditation) and informally (by learning to live "mindfully"). Acceptance and Commitment, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioural approaches, combined with mindfulness-based techniques are the primary agents for change that I utilise in my practice.
Eastern philosophies and western evidence-based modalities are combined to create powerful change in your overall mental health.
I am absolutely fascinated by the science and application of neuro-plasticity and mindfulness. We can actually train our brains to become less reactive, and to be better able to deal with "Life". And it is surprisingly easy to do.
More specifically, my practice utilises techniques from, and is heavily based on:
Whether you are "worried well" or suffering from symptoms of mental illness, I am convinced a positive difference will be made once you start applying the tools I can provide you with.
As counsellor and life coach, I work in my private practice, and am an experienced EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counsellor for a number of leading Australian EAP providers, such as:
In my international counselling and life coaching practice, I have worked with a host of mental health concerns, among which:
Each year, approximately one in every five Australians will experience a mental illness. Mental illnesses are the third leading cause of disability burden in Australia, accounting for an estimated 27% of the total years lost due to disability (Source: Mindframe). Globally, these numbers will be very similar, is my opinion.
These statistics do not even include the "worried well", people who do not have a mental illness, but are still suffering from mental ill-health. People like you and I. The statistics are staggering. Australians are suffering from mental health concerns in ever-increasing and alarming numbers.
My intention for you: stay away from becoming one of those statistics. Talk with me.
If you are employed, there is a good chance your employer has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in place. This program allows you to have a number of counselling sessions each year at NO COST to you.
I work with a number of leading Australian EAP providers, among which Converge International, Acacia Connection, Eudoxia, Workplace Wellness Australia, Drake Workwise, D'Accord PHS and LifeSkills Australia. Even when your employer is linked in with another EAP Provider, you might be able to engage my counselling services under their EAP program. Definitely check with your employer if an EAP counselling program is in place; this way, we could work together even more affordably!
And if this pathway is not possible: my fees are very reasonable, so we will be able to work something out together.
If you're serious about improving and maintaining your mental health, prevention is always better than cure. No matter at what level you are at, though, counselling and life coaching CAN help.
Simplify life. Let's have a chat.
