Hypnosis is just a relaxed state of mind, much like meditation, in which you are more suggestable to suggestions given by the hypnotherapist. This relaxed state of mind is not some strange or unusual state that could make your memory disappear if you don’t wake up, in fact, it’s a state that happens to us every day, when we wake up, watch TV, drive a car, receive a massage and the list goes on. This is the brains Alpha state of mind. As a hypnotherapist, I make positive suggestions for your mind rather than you taking on suggestions based on whatever is around you at the time, so you are only taking on board positive suggestions based on what is arranged in a session, rather than taking on board negative suggestions that you are unconsciously taking in through life. Considering it is a fact that the mind controls the body, why not change some of those poor beliefs in the subconscious that are no longer serving you in a positive way.
Hypnosis can be used for many life changing goals, however the main sessions I do are for quit smoking, weight loss (donating Kgs or virtual gastric band surgery) and alcohol cessation. At least 50% of clients receive positive results in one session, however at times, more sessions are required.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to bring health, happiness and abundance to others by using the techniques I have learned.
Why work on the subconscious?
Do you often find yourself making decisions that you just don’t understand and don’t believe to be rational?
Are you are frequently surrounding yourself with the type of people who bring you down, despite knowing that you deserve better?
Unbelievably, studies in neuroscience prove that as much of 95% of our conscious thoughts, actions and behaviours are actually influenced and controlled by our subconscious minds by the belief systems which reside here. So, whilst we believe that we are in control of our lives and our actions on a conscious level, most of us do not understand how much of our reality is created and dictated based on the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind is the storehouse for our attitudes, values and beliefs. From these beliefs we form perceptions and we develop behaviours which can control our reality.
The subconscious mind is a million times more powerful as an information processor than the conscious mind.
Amazingly, most of our belief systems in our subconscious mind are formed by the age of 6, and these beliefs do not change much throughout a person’s life. Think about that for a while…….. Throughout our life, consciously, we learn lessons, become wiser, and grow, however, even as adults, we are often still held back by our subconscious beliefs.
A great example that demonstrates the power of our subconscious is the below example of someone that has a phobia of spiders.
This phobia may have started as a young child, and as a young child who hasn’t yet grown and matured through life’s learning experiences, it would be deemed acceptable for them to have an illogical fear of spiders, evoked simply by looking at a photo of the spider.
As that child got older, matured and gained greater wisdom, they learnt that logically, a spider in a photograph is unable to harm them, therefore, it is not rational for this adult to view this same photo and still be fearful. Despite knowing consciously that this fear is not rational, many adults with a spider phobia viewing the same photograph would still experience that same level of fear they did as a child because of a fear residing within their subconscious mind.
Now consider this…… If the subconscious can create an irrational fear, it can also create irrational beliefs that can limit you in all aspects of your life, without you even being aware that you are being controlled by your subconscious.
This often explains why when people set goals to lose weight or quit smoking, they often fail, as the majority of the time their conscious goals are not in harmony with their subconscious beliefs.
It is possible to reprogram the subconscious mind by constant repetition, positive affirmations etc., however this can take several months, years or not work at all.
Why do things the hard way when I have learned and practiced different modalities which will enable you to release any blocks within your subconscious mind?
Rationally, it doesn’t make sense to hold onto limiting beliefs or live with a phobia, when in one session, you can rid yourself of your phobia, experience a change in limiting beliefs, and regain more control over your life.
