WHAT DOES A CONSULTATION INVOLVE?
An initial consultation with Jackie Ludwig involves a comprehensive Naturopathic assessment including a detailed health history, iridology, tongue analysis, nail analysis and Hemaview live blood screening to look at underlying processes in your body.
This assessment identifies systems and areas in your body that may require support to prevent or slow degeneration and keep you well.
Recommendations, or any further assessment measures are tailored for you as an individual. Such assessment may include further dietary analysis, urinary indicans test for bowel health or blood type testing (which are discussed in more detail further on).
How long before I will feel better? Anywhere from a week or two (for acute symptoms like colds) to a few months (for more chronic arthritis, deep seated hormonal imbalance, etc).
Follow up consultations are important to reassess your progress and resolve any queries with implementing your individualised holistic health program. They may include monitoring with techniques such as Hemaview live blood screening, urinary indicans testing, tongue and nail analysis or zinc level testing. Frequency of follow up will vary between individuals and as you progress towards and maintain your optimum wellness. Follow ups may be weekly or fortnightly to begin with, stretching to monthly or every few months as you achieve and maintain health. Feel free to talk to Jackie about a program for you.
IRIDOLOGY
The eyes are more than just the window to the soul. With hundreds of nerve endings, the iris acts as a mirror reflecting information from all areas of your body. Iridology involves observing the coloured part of the eye, the iris, for patterns, colours and shapes which are translated in relation to your body. This Naturopathic analysis tool can reveal underfunctioning, overactivity or areas that require focus.
HEMAVIEW LIVE BLOOD SCREENING
This amazing technique involves taking 1 or 2 drops of blood from a simple finger prick and looking at it under the microscope. Even better you can see it for yourself live on the screen!
This allows Jackie to screen for processes which may be driving your health ailments, impairing your immunity or affecting your energy levels. As these processes and your health improve you can see the changes.
HERBAL MEDICINE
Nature has provided many medicinal plants for us. Some of these can be eaten, some drunk as tea, or made into liquid extracts or tablets for stronger medicinal use. Jackie uses the highest quality herbal extracts, and combines them to work synergistically with each other as well as your body.
DIETARY ANALYSIS
Hippocrates, the father of medicine once said 'Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food'. A thorough analysis of your daily diet can highlight deficiencies or excesses of mirco and macro nutrients. It is a good idea to keep a diary of your food intake for a few days before your appointment to assist this analysis. Recommendations can correct these imbalances as well as teach you how to use your food as medicine.
IN CLINIC TESTING and PATHOLOGY REFERRALS
Blood Type Test
This simple finger prick test can determine on the spot whether you are a blood type A, B, O or AB. Following diet and lifestyle recommendations for your blood type can be beneficial, especially when combined with other Naturopathic recommendations for you as an individual.
Urinary Indicans Test
This test indicates the level of balance within your bowel flora. It requires a urine sample, which you will be given instructions on how and when to collect. It is extremely useful before a detox, or any situation which involves imbalanced bowel flora.
Pathology Testing
Other appropriate pathology testing can be referred for outside of the clinic if necessary. These include IgG food allergy testing (blood test), hormone level testing (thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, adrenal hormones...) and hair mineral analysis (including heavy metals). Prices of these tests vary.
EAR CANDLING
Ear candling can be beneficial in the temporary relief of the symptoms of sinus problems, ear ache, glue ear, swimmers ear, some chronic headaches, hearing difficulties, sore throat, allergies. This technique aids the removal of excessive of ear wax. It may also help to relieve pressure after flying, deep sea diving, or help to relax and calm, relieving symptoms of stress and anxiety.
Ear candling has been utilised for many years. Ancient rock paintings show the use of Earcandles at initiation rituals and medicinal ceremonies. The candles Jackie uses are made with only premium quality, pesticide-free untreated cotton, pure beeswax and honey extract.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT:
*List of any medications and/or supplements you are taking
*Pathology results from and tests or investigations you have had. These may be blood tests from your Doctor or any other reports from health care practitioners. If you don't have a copy your Doctor will be able to send you a copy.
*Write down everything you eat for 3 days and bring this food diary to your consultation
*Your Health Fund card to process HICAPS (Medicare does not cover Naturopathy).
