LOOKING FOR A BALANCED LIFE?
YOUR WELLNESS JOURNEY BEGINS HERE!

NATUROPATHY
As a Naturopath I seek the underlying cause of disease (or problem) rather than its symptoms. The body has the power to heal itself and my role is to facilitate this natural process with Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Homoeopathy, Iridology, and different kinds of Massage.
Naturopathy treats a wide range of ailments with the use of natural medicines. First Naturopathic consultation can take up one hour and will cover a patient's lifestyle, specific symptoms, medical history and diet. An appropriate treatment is then designed to suit your needs and treat the cause of disease. The treatment may consist of herbal medicines, homoeopathic remedies dietary advice, supplements such as vitamins or minerals.

Naturopaths use gentle, effective and safe treatments.

Herbal Medicine
Herbs behave as more than just assemblages of chemicals. When a herbal remedy is examined experimentally it is found to have activity that is apparently more than the sum of that of its active constituents. Their combination gives it unique properties, properties that are often hard to mimic with any single isolated drug. These properties are traditionally seen as a different sort of medicine with vitalistic, supportive action of the body's recuperative powers.

Iridology
The science of iridology is based on the analysis of the iris. It is a method whereby the practitioner can tell from markings or signs in the iris, the reflex condition of various organs and systems of the body. It is a simple, painless, economical and non-invasive way of looking into the body. Iridology offers a unique perspective to the concept and practice of preventive medicine. Iridology in its basic philosophy, stresses the treatment of the patient, not the disease. By identifying the underlying imbalances in the body that produces symptoms, it is an invaluable asset in the formulation of remedial therapies.
A picture of both irises will be taken during a consultation.

Homoeopathy
Homoeopathy is used in the treatment of chronic illness, acute conditions and minor accidents which require first aid. Homoeopathy uses a small, specially prepared doses of a substance. Homoeopaths view physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of a person as interrelated and intimately connected. Symptoms of illness are evidence of the body's natural and automatic efforts to heal itself and these clues are used to guide the Homoeopath when prescribing a remedy.
Homoeopathy is also a very effective, safe and palatable alternative therapy for children. Homoeopathic remedy acts as a signal which energises or stimulates the body's self-healing powers, mobilising the defence systems and working on the mental, emotional and physical aspects of the body.
Homoeopathy also offers a method of maintaining health and preventing illness. It is not necessary for a homoeopath to wait for a conventional diagnosis before treatment can commence. Much illness can be "nipped in the bud" before a more serious disease appears.

Nutrition
Nutrition is the relationship of foods to the health of the human body. Proper nutrition means that all the essential nutrients are supplied and utilized in adequate balance to maintain optimal health and well-being. Nutritional deficiencies may result in disease whenever inadequate amounts of these essential nutrients are provided to the tissues that must function normally over long periods of time.
No single substance will maintain vibrant health. Although specific vitamins and minerals are known to be more important in the functions of certain parts of the body, even these nutrients are totally dependent upon the presence of others for their best effects. Therefore balancing the daily diet intake of all those nutrients is important.

Refresh and relax body and mind with a special touch and movement that has been used since ancient times to heal and to enhance well-being.

MASSAGE is used for specific body structures, general body processes and emotional states or to increase body awareness, foster structural and functional integration, communicate compassion or balance energy.
Massage is performed for different reasons such as relaxation, relief from pain, conditioning to slow the effects of aging or to receive caring touch.
Massage improves blood circulation, immune system function, assist metabolic balance in muscle tissue, promotes muscle relaxation, maintains connective tissue pliability and mobility, increases joint mobility and flexibility and reduces pain.

REFLEXOLOGY is the modern name for a therapy that has been known and used in many countries of the ancient world. It was first recorded in Egypt about 2330BC!
Reflexology deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all organs, systems and glands of the body making the feet a "mirror image" of the body.
It is applied by gentle pressure using fingers and thumbs over all areas of the feet and ankles (or hands if appropriate).
Reflexology is suitable for health problems of all age groups and is compatible with all other forms of medicine.
High level of stress can often lead to a wide range of health disorders. Reflexology is a positive highly successful method of reducing the physical and emotional stresses and anxieties of today's society.
Reflexology brings balance and harmony to all body systems.

Conditions that can respond to Reflexology:
Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Fatigue, PMT, Headaches, Respiratory congestion, Arthritis, Earache/Toothache, High blood pressure, Constipation, Bowel disorders, Kidney disorders, Stomach complaints, Fluid retention, Back problems, and many others...

Massage and Reflexology promote and encourage TOTAL BODY RELAXATION, restful sleep and generally give a WONDERFUL FEELING OF WELL-BEING

NEUROSTRUCTURAL INTEGRATION TECHNIQUE
Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST) is a soft tissue therapy designed to release muscles and fascia. It is a safe technique for all ages with no major contraindications, rendering the technique useful for a wide range of conditions from acute to chronic pains.
NST is done in a gentle manner working on muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves giving an experience of deep relaxation. Relief is frequently attained after the first session however long term resolution is generally attained after few treatments.

Following a treatment you can experience body aches moving from one location to another, some sweating, emotional release, but above all a deep sense of relaxation and change taking place.
Using fingers or thumbs, the object of the move is to roll over designated points for the purpose of creating sedation or stimulation. "Opening and closing energetic channels and pathways" to hold, redirect or release the congested subtle energies of the body.

Conditions that respond well to NST:
Spinal, cranial conditions
Neck conditions including whiplash
Back conditions including pelvic, lumbar and thoracic
Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions
Leg, knee, ankle and foot conditions
Asthma and other respiratory conditions
Arthritis and joint conditions
Menstrual, fertility and menopausal conditions
Accident and sporting injuries
Acute and chronic fatigue
Stress conditions and emotional depression
