Good for You Juicing Recipes

Juicing can give you good-for-you benefits with every sip, and these recipes are just simply good for you.  The good news is that for the following recipes, you do not need a fancy juicer, you will just need a blender.  Remember, if the end product is too thick, you can just add a little water until you get to the consistency you need.

Green Smurf

Ingredients

  • 1 cup kale (from about 3 large, shredded leaves)
  • 1 cup seedless green grapes
  • 1 English cucumber, thickly sliced
  • 1 small Granny Smith apple cored and cut into chunks and skin left on
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine the kale, grapes, cucumber, apple, and water in a blender and blend.
  2. Every now and then stop the blender and scrape down the sides, until smooth.
  3. Strain juice if need be. You can also thin with additional water.
  4. Refrigerate up to 2 days (shake before serving).

Immune Booster

Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple cored and cubed, skin left on
  • 2 medium soft pears cored and cubed, skin left on
  • 1/2 cup cherries (fresh with pits removed or frozen and thawed)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine apple, pears, and cherries.
  2. Every now and then stop the blender and scrape down the sides, until smooth.
  3. Strain juice if need be. You can also thin with additional water.
  4. Refrigerate up to 2 days (shake before serving).

High antioxidant

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)
  • 5 fresh strawberries, halved (or frozen, thawed)
  • 2 cups peeled and coarsely chopped mango

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine blueberries, strawberries, mango, and water and blend.
  2. Every now and then stop the blender and scrape down the sides, until smooth.
  3. Strain juice if need be. You can also thin with additional water.
  4. Refrigerate up to 2 days (shake before serving).
  5. You can garnish with a mint leaf and some blueberries sprinkled on top.
